The increasing transport of powdery materials, especially cement, at the end of the 1950s led to the need to purchase new silo wagons. The wagons used for the bulk transport of bulk goods were the property of the cement and lime manufacturers and were included in the CSD fleet as P wagons, i.e. private wagons.
